Safety is our primary concern. The original event date of 14-15 March 2020 sadly was not possible due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and we were forced to postpone the event just 1 week before the event date. This was an extremely unfortunate and expensive eventuality. We tried several subsequent event dates in 2020 and 2021, but again the Covid-19 pandemic prevented from this being possible, with no mass participation events being allowed in Malaysia at this time. The latest event date of 29-30 October 2022 has now been set, to give as much time as possible for the pandemic recovery.
All individual and team relay registrations, together with race entitlements, will be automatically deferred to the rescheduled event date. Registered participants who are unable to take part in the rescheduled event have the option to utilise the Powerman Malaysia Marketplace . This is a platform specifically designed to connect athletes wanting to sell their race entry (the Seller) with those wanting to register for the event (the Buyer). As the event has been sold out for a long time, there is plenty of new demand for tickets.
Powerman Malaysia is a duathlon.
A duathlon is an athletic event that consists of a running leg, followed by a cycling leg and then another running leg in a format similar to triathlons.
Powerman Malaysia have created a Marketplace to connect athletes wanting to sell their race entry (the Seller) with those wanting to register for the event (the Buyer). As the event has been sold out for a long time, there is plenty of new demand for tickets.
Running shoes, bicycles and helmets are not provided by the organiser and is the responsibility of the participant.
Participants age and category entitlement in the Individual Classic and Individual Short races is calculated based on their age as of 31st December 2022. PowerKids and PowerTeens age categories are calculated based on their age on Race Day.
Any age category changes (older ages as a result of the postponed event) will be automatically made by the organiser, at no additional cost to the participant.
The race kit includes an event t-shirt, bag, race bib, timing chip (Powerman and PowerTeen categories only) and other items provided by our sponsors. Powerman Classic and Short finisher’s will also receive a finisher t-shirt.
It is COMPULSORY for all categories in the Powerman event to check-in their bicycles one (1) day before the race. Please refer to the event schedule for bike check-in times.
PowerTeens and PowerKids participants can check-in their bicycles on race day, please refer to the event schedule for bike check-in times.
Each team can comprise of two (2) or three (3) athletes. Men and women can race together in a team or a team can be all men or all women.
There is only one Race Category for Powerman Classic Relay and Powerman Short Relay regardless of the number of members in each team or gender.
All members of the team must be 18 years and above on the day of the event.

- Cut-off for all Powerman categories will be 6 hours from flag off.
- Cut-off for PowerTeens categories will be 2 hours from flag off.
- Cut-off for PowerKids 9-12 Year Olds will be 1 hour from flag off.
- Cut-off for PowerKids 5-8 Year Olds will be 30 mins from flag off.
Mechanical assistance during the race is not permitted. Participants are advised to be prepared to perform basic mechanical services on their own such as puncture repair.
There will be support vehicles to pick up participants who wish to retire from the race.
If support vehicles are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances, participants must be prepared to wait for the vehicle’s arrival.
No, race drafting is NOT ALLOWED for all Powerman events. Participants caught drafting will be disqualified. Please refer to the Race Rules for further explanation of the drafting rules.
Aid Stations for the run course will be spaced between 1km to 2km intervals on the run course. The Aid Station for the bike course will be approximately 15km from the start line.
Personal audio devices are not allowed on any part of the race course.
We appreciate that you are disappointed about the the race being rescheduled; we are too and we regret any inconvenience caused through disruption to travel and other arrangements. Re-scheduling a major event like Powerman at a sought-after venue such as Dataran Putrajaya is a complex undertaking and we recognise that you might not be able to participate in the re-scheduled event.
The Powerman Marketplace is a communication platform that allows for the transfer of race entries between a registered participant who is not able to attend the rescheduled event dates (the Seller) and a new athlete who would like to enter the event (the Buyer). All transaction terms are solely between the Seller and Buyer and payments are made offline from the Marketplace. To learn about the Marketplace transfer process, please visit Powerman Marketplace.
As stated in the Powerman Terms and Conditions, agreed to by all athletes during registration for a Powerman event, we are unable to offer refunds for postponed events. All race entries are automatically transferred to the new event date.
All Powerman, PowerTeens and PowerKids finishers will receive a finisher medal and e-certificate upon successful completion of their race.
Finisher t-shirts will only be provided to Powerman Individual Classic and Individual Short finishers.
